How to Get More Followers on Twitter for Your Business
There’s no doubt that social media is a huge part of any business nowadays. Twitter is a popular platform among business owners because of the potential to reach new clients, develop your branding, and network with like-minded people. However, you can only experience these benefits if you have followers with which to connect and interact with. There are many ways to gain more followers on Twitter, so this post is by no means an exhaustive list, but it will bring to light some of the easiest and quickest ways to grow your following.
There are three main areas to focus on when expanding your Twitter account: followers, promotion, and content.
1. Follow More People
This may seem a bit backward; you’re trying to gain followers for yourself, not follow more people after all! However, studies show that the more people you follow, the higher your number of followers. If you reach out to people, they’re far more likely to connect with you.
2. Tweet People Directly
If you want to Tweet someone or reply to someone who has commented on one of your Tweets, make sure you do so by using the “@” symbol followed by their username. Directly mentioning them is more likely to grab their attention because it will notify them that you’ve Tweeted them. It will also show people that you’re engaging with them directly, giving them a personal connection to your brand.
3. Follow and Engage With Smaller Brands
Anyone can Tweet at the big business names, and it’s likely that your Tweet will get lost in the sea of others. A more effective use of your time would be to connect with smaller brands, especially those in the same area as you. Use the above approach of directly tweeting them and comment on one of their tweets or tweet them telling them you love their product/brand. Don’t forget to follow them too! A smaller business will be far more likely to see your tweet and respond to you and follow you back. You may even find a few of their followers follow you!
