Sites Like Fiverr (but better) to Sell Your Services
Most people by now have heard of Fiverr. It’s a digital marketplace where you can buy and sell services, like copywriting or graphic design. Those interested in selling their services have probably already investigated Fiverr… They may even have a profile set up and have started selling. However, there is one big drawback with Fiverr. It’s difficult to earn what you’re worth! We’re all about being paid fairly for what you do, so let’s take a look at some sites that are like Fiverr (but better) where you can sell your services.
What used to be Elance and Odesk has now combined, to become UpWork. It is one of the busiest freelancing websites on the internet, so you’re guaranteed to find jobs that suit your skill set. We particularly like the user interface and the messaging system, which seems so much more advanced than some of the others out there. The signup process is easy and the bidding system isn’t too bad either.
The drawbacks? As with most of the sites to sell your services, they charge freelancers quite a lot. They recently changed the system so that freelancers pay 20% (ouch) on the first $500 billed with a client. As the lifetime earnings with that client rise, the fees go down. However, you won’t reach that super low 5% fee until you’ve hit over $10,000 lifetime earnings with that client. Unless you’re working on a huge project with someone, it’s unlikely you’ll be able to take advantage of the lower fee structure.
Overall, UpWork is busy enough to keep you going, but you could be stung by some rather large fees.
